Wire Wrapped Art Glass Ring: "Twilight Wheel of Life"

Inspired by fairy lore and pagan belief, this antique copper wire ring evokes visions of twilight, betwixt and between, and the mystical Wheel of Life.

The gloaming of the evening where dusk divides day from night and the veil between the worlds of human and faerie grows thin, the cusp of events and happenings when you are neither here nor there but suspended in time and thought, and the never-ending Wheel of Life join in this fantasy ring. May it remind you of the still places where reality is formed by belief and another land is but a step away, the direction chosen while betwixt and between can bring magic or mayhem into your life and you must allow yourself to take as much time as needed to decide, and the continuing cycle of the seasons, which represent the never-ending circle of birth, procreation, death and rebirth. If only you will trust yourself to believe...

I created this ring using the following design elements:

One 2mm x 12mm glass organic lampwork disk bead in Teal Plum, a Violet and Amethyst Blend encased in glossy Teal Crystal (handmade here on Etsy at http://www.etsy.com/shop/radiantmind).

One 4mm x 4mm in glass organic seed bead in Teal Plum, a Violet and Amethyst Blend encased in glossy Teal Crystal (handmade here on Etsy at http://www.etsy.com/shop/radiantmind).

One 20-gauge pre-cut copper flower shape.

I hand-chased the copper flower shape using a decorative hammer to create an interesting texture.

I hand-stamped “B” “e” “l” “i” “e” “v” “e” “!”, one letter per petal, on the back of the pre-cut copper flower shape and then dapped it into a cupped shape that was only slightly larger than the glass disk. I hand-torched two long pieces of 22-gauge wire to create balled ends on one end. I then slipped both wires through the seed bead, the disk bead and the copper flower shape, and proceeded to form the ring shank using basic wire wrapping techniques. I then oxidized, waxed and buffed the copper to create a warm brown finish.

This ring is a size 8 US (Q UK, 57 EU). The ring has a high profile and a secret message underneath that only you will know about---unless you decide to share!

I'll only make this treasure once, which makes it OOAK (one of a kind) and means you will receive the exact item shown in the photographs, ready to ship. I may be able to re-size a treasure, change a clasp style, or modify the type of ear wire at no additional cost, so if you desire a modification, please Etsy convo me BEFORE placing your order.
